Intervention on a 30-metre-long mural, in the context of Colombian artist ︎Milena Bonilla's solo exhibition, ︎"The Hour Before Sunset", curated by Juan Luis Toboso, at the ︎Porto Municipal Gallery. 

To realise this calligraphic performance, an exclusive alphabet was created at the request of the artist Milena, based on three references of typographic anatomy: the Type Font Caslon, and two other calligraphies of classical origin, the Fundamental script and the Humanist Minuscule.
 

The result is an exclusive alphabet to materialise in the gallery space and bring to the surface the words that the artist selected from the shards of author Rosa Luxemburg's book "The Accumulation of Capital", after having its pages pierced by a bullet, similar to the bullet that hit Rosa in 1919. Milena not only recovers part of the author's legacy, but also invites us to enter a magical and timeless imaginary that connects botany and literature, as well as expanding our gaze to historical issues of structural colonialism.

Intervenção em um mural com 30 metros de comprimento, no contexto da exposição individual da artista colombiana ︎Milena Bonilla, ︎"A Hora Antes do Pôr-do-Sol", e curadoria por Juan Luis Toboso, na ︎Galeria Municipal do Porto.

Para a realização dessa performance caligráfica, foi criado antes um alfabeto exclusivo, a pedido da artista Milena, baseado em três referências de anatomia tipográfica: a Type Font Caslon, e mais duas caligrafias de origem clássica, a escrita Fundamental e a Minúscula Humanista. Resultando em um alfabeto exclusivo para materializar no espaço da galeria, e trazer à superfície as palavras que a artista selecionou a partir dos estilhaços do livro da autora Rosa Luxemburgo - "The Accumulation of Capital", após ter suas páginas atravessadas por uma bala, semelhante a bala que atingiu Rosa em 1919. Milena recupera não só parte do legado da autora, como também convida-nos a adentrar em um imaginário mágico e atemporal, que conecta a botânica e a literatura, além de expandir o nosso olhar para questões históricas do colonialismo estrutural.
